Delhi′s Safdarjung Hospital has launched a new hemodialysis unit to offer patients with renal issues the highest caliber of dialysis care. According to the authorities, online hemodiafiltration (HDF) equipment would be included in the cutting-edge facility.
Dr. Himanshu Verma, chairman of the hospital′s department of nephrology and kidney transplant, said that tests were carried out for a considerable time before the unit was officially launched on Wednesday. This project will help renal patients’ access high-quality hemodialyzers and speed up the hospital′s kidney transplant program. The level of service is comparable to that of private hospitals.
The water needed for dialysis must be pure because it enters the blood. This machine, which represents the most recent advancement in double RO plant technology, produces ultra-pure water with virtually no bacterial contamination.
According to Dr. Verma, providing clean water is the only way to offer better-quality dialysis services. This device′s ultra-pure water supply will increase the effectiveness of dialysis. Additionally, dialysis lengthens life expectancy. The longer a person lives, the better the water quality.
Additionally, this unit will offer CGHS patients access to hemodialysis services. The hospital has extended its OPD hours from 4.30 to 8 for dialysis patients. The hospital administration stated that the choice was made in light of the growing public demand.
So far, the department has acquired two online HDF devices. Such a treatment costs about Rs 5,000 in private facilities. This service is provided without charge at Safdarjung Hospital.
